The limited-release bourbon will be officially unveiled on Tuesday, Nov. 16, at a special event at Evergreen Liquors in Middletown, 5-7 p.m. Brent Elliott, Master Distiller of Four Roses, will be on hand to sign bottles, and members of the Louisville Metro Police SWAT team also will be on hand with a SWAT vehicle on display.
The barrel was chosen jointly by Evergreen Liquors and members of the Louisville Metro Police Swat Team, along with Four Roses staff. The barrel was aged 9 years, 9 months when picked from tier 5 of Warehouse T at the Four Roses Distillery. It was distilled using Four Roses’ proprietary OESQ recipe. The bourbon was bottled at cask strength (123.3 proof), and bottles, which will feature a special LMPD SWAT team logo, will retail for $149.99 during the release.
There will be a strict 1 bottle per person limit and are expected to sell out during the event.
Mike Fisk, Chief Marketing and Sales Officer for Evergreen Liquors and Cox’s Spirit Shoppes, said the team that chose the barrel tasted eight other barrels before designating it as the favorite.
“It’s got classic Four Roses spice,” Fisk said. “Honestly, Four Roses makes some of the best bourbon there is.”
Proceeds from bottle sales will be used to purchase specialty training equipment for the LMPD SWAT Team.
“Our goal ultimately is to support the growth of the City of Louisville and help keep it a safer community for everyone,” Fisk said. “As a member of the Louisville business community, we want to support thecommunity as a whole as much as possible.”
